Years advancing oral health in Ghana
The Oral Health Professionals Association of Ghana (OHPAG) was formed on 14th March, 2015 at Kintampo Municipal Assembly Hall of Bono East Region (then Brong Ahafo Region) and registered with the Registrar General's Department on July, 2018 after meeting all legal requirements. It serves as the official vehicle or the mouthpiece of all cadres of Oral health with the exception of the dentist.
The cadres include Dental Surgery Assistants, Dental Surgery Technicians, Dental Laboratory Technicians, Dental Laboratory Technologists, Dental Hygienists, Physician Assistant-Dental, and Dental Therapists. OHPAG is recognised by the Ministry of Health, Ghana Health Service, and Allied Health Professions Council and engaged by these agencies on matters regarding Oral Health Training and Services in Ghana. The Health Services Workers Union holds the collective bargaining certificate for OHPAG. We have a membership of approximately one thousand (1000) members who are in good standing with the Professional Council, working with Ghana Health Service, Christian Health Association of Ghana, private practice, and quasi-government institutions across the country.
We are guided by principles that ensure the highest standards of oral health care delivery
and professional conduct across Ghana.
